Italian tennis player Thomas Fabbiano has been confirmed as the participant for the upcoming Rio Olympic Games. After a series of withdrawals from the Olympics place has opened up for the 27-year-old who gladly accepted the given offer.
The 110th-ranked player in the world is due to make his Olympic debut in Rio as he didn't take part in any Olympic event ever before. Fabbiano will be joined by three other Italians - Fabio Fognini, Andres Seppi and Paolo Lorenzi, who are expected to make a trip to Rio.
Also, the Italian is seeking to feature doubles alongside the 2016 Generali Open in Kitzbuhel champion Lorenzi. Fabbiano's best result in the season was the quarter-final stage at the Aircel Chennai Open where he lost in straight sets to Benoit Paire 6-4 7-5.
