Former Brazilian tennis player Gustavo Kuerten approached the legal court in his country on Tuesday with his lawyer in order to defend himself from the accusations of tax authorities towards him. Kuerten is said to have not paid tax dues of 30 million Brazilian real, more than eight million dollars, from earnings from 2000 to 2003.
This money comes from several sponsors, but the lawyer said that if Kuerten had not wanted to pay taxes, he would have changed his residence out of Brazil. The accusation is about the fact that Kuerten declared 20% instead of 27% of his income.
Still nothing has been decided, the court has reserved its decision. Story by Site Tenis News
