A post-career future in the Federation for Martina Hingis seems on the way. The 36-year-old doubles player, who has been playing with a new partner, Coco Vandeweghe, after splitting up with Sania Mirza, has been named as Swiss Tennis ambassador.
She will have the role to promote and develop tennis in her country, especially the new WTA Event in Biel that will take place for the first time ever in April 2017. Hingis won five Grand Slam singles titles between 1997 and 1999 (thrice Australian Open, once Wimbledon and US Open).
In the doubles she won 12 Grand Slam titles, one this year at the Australian Open with Sania Mirza. Story by Livetennis ALSO READ: Toni Nadal: 'Rafa will be at his best in 2017. Djokovic is better than Murray!'
