Indian Wells Renovation Almost Complete

Prior to the 2014 edition of the BNP Paribas Open, Indian Wells management revealed the Stadium 2 which had a seating capacity of 8000. Following on, in 2016 additions were made to the Stadium 1 seating arrangements and a new VIP box was added as well.

However, latest news releases have shown that this was just the phase 1 and the phase 2 of the renovation is about to be completed and will be finished in due time for the coming edition of Indian Wells. “Stadium 1 was getting very jealous of Stadium 2,” Tommy Haas “They were texting each other back and forth, ‘I should have more of the bigger matches on my court.’ ” In Phase 2, a total of 100,000 square feet have been added to the stadium which has completely changed the way the stadium looked before.

The remodeling has focused on the 300 level suites and the addition of private rest rooms. Previously there has been talk of an addition of an on-site hotel and even a museum. Those plans are still to be thought over but have not left the table and may still be in consideration for future upgradation plans.
