Jo Wilfried Tsonga wins an amateur event in Caen

Jo Wilfried Tsonga made it all the way at an amateur event in Caen after beating Roberto Bautista-Agut in the final match. The 31-year-old needed two sets to overcome the Spaniard 7-6 (2) 6-4. The French tennis player went all the way in 2015 at the tournament as well.

The Open de Caen, an amateur event which features professional players in its player field, was firstly held in 2007. The tournament has two stages: the qualifications and the finals. Tsonga started his campaign in the finals phase, from the semi-final stage - where he defeated Josselin Ouanna.

Prior to this year's Caen edition, Paul-Henri Mathieu and Richard Gasquet each had two titles won at the tournament. Now they're joined by the attractive Tsonga, who as well has two Caen titles to his name. Also read: John Millman could miss Brisbane International and Australian Open
