Moroccan Younes El Aynaoui is the oldest player to have a ranking on the ATP list. The 45-year-old is tied for 1,757 place on the list after collecting a win at an ITF event in Bahrain recently.
El Aynaoui, who had to make it past qualies in Bahrain, defeated world number 870 Bernd Kossler in a tight first-round match 6-4 2-6 7-5. Viktor Durasovic of Norway was eventually too much for El Aynaoui in the following round.
The Moroccan is a former world number 14 player in singles -- the ranking he achieved 14 years ago in 2003 on March 11th. He is also a holder of five ATP titles in singles -- Amsterdam (1999), Bucharest (2001), Doha, Casablanca and Munich (2002).
El Aynaoui featured at one ITF event in 2016 as well -- he fell short to Alexis Musialek in a round one clash. El Aynaoui could have been seen playing a seniors event in London in 2015 and 2016 as well.
