Former Wimbledon runner-up Garbine Muguruza will prepare for The Championships on the Birmingham grass courts after confirming her participation for June’s Aegon Classic. The reigning French Open Champion won the Birmingham doubles title in 2015, is one of four Top 10 players due to appear on the grass courts of the Edgbaston Priory Club.
"I’m really happy to come back to Birmingham,” said Muguruza, who won the doubles title with Carla Suarez Navarro on her last visit to Birmingham in 2015. “I have some fantastic memories of playing on grass from when I reached the Wimbledon final and Birmingham has been a great tournament for me in the past.
