After a successful four-year cooperation, Richard Gasquet split with coach Sergi Bruguera. The French player announced the news through his official Twitter account writing: 'I really Want to thank Sergi For These 4 incredible years .
It Was an honor for me to Work with Such a great champion and great person.' In the last four years Gasquet reached 2015 Wimbledon semifinals and US Open quarters in the same year. Last year he reached Roland Garros quarters, while this year he achieved his best results in the final part of the season reaching three ATP quarters in a row.
He ended his season losing to Grigor Dimitrov in the Paris Bercy second round. Bruguera will be the Spain Davis Cup captain for the next two years, his job will officially start in the first round World Group tie against Great Britain from 2 to 4 February.
Gasquet will be coached by Thierry Champion in 2018.
