There were two announcements about high-level players splitting with coaches this week. The US Open finalist Kevin Anderson revealed on Wednesday that he is not working with Neville Godwin anymore, now the World No. 45 and 21-year-old Karen Khachanov wrote on Twitter that he split with his Spaniard coach Galo Blanco.
'After 4 years of working with Galo, we have mutually decided to stop working together. I want to thank Galo for all his help and dedication. It has been an amazing journey and we will remain close friends for the years to come I am sure', the Moscow native wrote the day after losing at the Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan.
This year Khachanov achieved a career-high ranking at No. 29 in August, he reached Roland Garros fourth round, Halle semifinals. He will soon announce who will be his new coach. Blanco had started working with him in 2013, just after splitting with the Canadian Milos Raonic.
