Newcombe Medal is the Australian tennis' highest annual honor you can ever get, and every year there is a big buzz about who could win. For this year, Ashleigh Barty, Daria Gavrilova on the female side and Nick Kyrgios, John Peers, Jordan Thompson on the male side have been nominated.

The winner will be known on Monday, November 27 at Annual Awards in Melbourne. 'We look forward to honoring the contribution of our tennis stars on and off the court at the Australian Tennis Awards', said the Australian Open tournament director Craig Tiley.

'We recognize the exceptional achievements of our athletes but also celebrate the influence our coaches, clubs, schools, volunteers and communities have had on the game across Australia during the past 12 months.' Barty came back to compete again in mid 2016 after taking a long break, and now she is in the top 20.

'I am proud to be part of the Australian tennis family', Barty said. 'Being nominated for the Newcombe Medal is a huge honor for me and something I didn’t think possible in my first year back.' This year Kyrgios didn't win any ATP titl but reached Beijing and Cincinnati finals, Miami and Acapulco semis, Indian Wells quarters.
