Tsvetana Pironkova is reportedly pregnant. There have been rumours about the Bulgarian player's pregnancy for a while, but now according to Topsport it seems to have been confirmed.
Pironkova also posted a picture of herself on Instagram, though she didn't clarify about the status of her pregnancy. She played her last match this year at Wimbledon, and is set to skip most of the 2018 season. Her comeback to the Tour is, as yet, unknown.
In the 2017 season, Pironkova struggled to get her best form. She lost in the first round at the Australian Open to Agnieszka Radwanska, and then lost six matches in a row, from Doha to Rome. At Wimbedon, where she reached the semi-finals once, in 2010, she beat Sara Errani in the first round before losing to Caroline Wozniacki in the round of 64.
She finished the season ranked 169th in the world.
