Mandy Minella Resumes Training After Child Birth in October

Tennis - Luxembourg's Mandy Minella has resumed training after giving birth to her first child at the end of October. Minella posted an update on her Facebook account on December 31st talking about her last practice of the year.

The 32-year-old Minella gave birth to her first child - Emma - at the end of October and last played on the tour at Wimbledon. She is currently ranked No. 145 in the world in singles. There has been no date set for her comeback though she had earlier indicated that she may be back in March or April.

Former World No. 1 Serena Williams is also working on her comeback from giving birth to her first child in September. Williams played an exhibition match on Saturday against French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko but lost in a match tie-breaker.

She is entered to play the Australian Open starting in mid-January but says she will decide as time gets closer if she feels fit enough to play. Minella, who has peaked at No. 66 in the rankings, has been working with her coach and husband Tim Sommer.
