The story about Simona Halep without a clothing sponsor may have arrived at an end. The world No. 2 has been wearing a t-shirt and short without any brand in Shenzhen Open and Australian Open, where she respectively won the title and reached final.
Now, with the Qatar Total Open getting closer to the start, it seems the 26-year-old has reached a new deal, with Nike, as on Friday she trained wearing t-shirt, short and shoes produced by the American brand. It happened in Cluj on an indoor hard-court, where Romania will face Canada this weekend in the World Group II draw.
Halep is not playing due to an ankle injury sustained during her first round match in Melbourne against Destanee Aiava but is set to come back on the Tour soon with Doha, Dubai events. Halep had split with Adidas at the end of last year because she asked for a bigger new deal.
Now she is expected to earn more than 2 million dollars from Nike. Here below the pics, also her coach Darren Cahill took one.
