The 2020 Tokyo Olympics are around two years and five months away, but the organizers are already thinking about how to prepare the venue as best as possible. The Tokyo Ariake Tennis Park, that currently hosts ATP and WTA Tokyo event, is undergoing several renovations soon.
The Central Court, Coliseum, will have new seats and the roof will be refurbished. There will be also two Stadium courts, respectively made up of 5,000 and 3,000 seats. There will be also built new courts: 26 outdoors, eight indoors.
Previously it had 48 outdoor courts. The project will start in November, just after the ATP and WTA tournaments take place, and will be finished in July 2019.
