Nick Kyrgios announces bad news after undergoing elbow tests

Nick Kyrgios keeps being bothered by his right elbow. The Australian player went through further medical tests in the last days after his three sets loss to the veteran Ivo Karlovic in Houston, and he made an announcement on Instagram.

'After returning home and consulting with medical staff in Australia I have been diagnosed with Posterior Impingement and Ulnar Nerve Irritation and I have been advised to stop playing through it', Kyrgios warned.

'After thorough investigations and careful consideration, I have had a corticosteroid injection to settle the pain and inflammation. Now to maximise my recovery I have to build the strength needed to compete at my best over the next month, ensuring I have confidence in my elbow before returning.' This year Kyrgios already withdrew from four tournaments between February and March, and came back to compete at the Miami Open.

He plans to play three consecutive tournaments on clay - Estoril, Madrid and Rome - before Roland Garros, but it seems difficult that it will happen.
