ATP 500 of Tokyo to switch venue - All the details

Important changes to the Rakuten Japan Open. The venue, that hosts the ATP 500 in October, will now be a different one than the past. Ariake Tennis Forest Park, that was opened 31 years ago in 1987, will now be replaced by Musashino Forest Sport Plaza, which is the first new venue completed for 2020 Summer Tokyo Olympics.

Ariake Park is instead undergoing renovation and it will be finished in around one year. That's why Musashino arena could just be a one-year venue for the tennis tournament. We will see whether if the WTA Premier event that takes place in September will do the same as well.

As for the ATP tournament, the organizers will soon hold a press conference to speak about this topic and this year's edition that takes place from 1 to 7 October. The first player's announcement is expected to be made in early June.

Last year the Belgian David Goffin defeated Adrian Mannarino in the final to win the title.
