Beyond Blue was introduced as Tennis Australia’s new charity partner during the Australian Open 2019 launch with the idea of highlighting the importance of taking care of yourself mentally on and off the court. "Our partnership with Beyond Blue is very important to us” Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley said.
“The work they do is authentic and makes an enormous difference in our community. We look forward to working closely with them.” “This is a significant relationship for Beyond Blue,” Beyond Blue CEO Georgie Harman said. “We value Tennis Australia’s support in spreading the word about the benefits of positive mental health and wellbeing,” Ms Harman said.
“By working together, we can create a culture that supports every Australian to achieve their best possible mental health.” With a number of exciting events being planned between the two, the idea is of these events is to make more and more people aware of the mental wellbeing.
“Sport, and particularly tennis, can help smash stigma and transform attitudes throughout the community, cutting across age and gender, ethnicity and geography,” Ms Harman said. “We want to create mentally healthy communities where mental health is spoken about openly, and where people feel comfortable approaching others without hesitation to talk about how they are faring.” The relationship between Beyond Blue and Tennis Australia is one of the four community service partnerships for the former across Australia.
