Playing at the Necker Cup for charity, the investor Richard Branson praised Bjorn Borg with who he took a picture on Sunday. The Necker Cup is a yearly tennis event that takes place near The Bahamas with several tennis players including Eugenie Bouchard this year or Grigor Dimitrov last year.
'Personally, I think Björn Borg is arguably the greatest tennis player of all time - 11 Grand Slams in 8 years & retired at 26. Who would you choose?', Branson wrote through her official Twitter account.
Borg is rarely on the tennis tour. The Swede was the Team Europe captain at the Laver Cup in Chicago, the United States for the second year in a row (in 2017 the event took place in Prague, Czech Republic). Borg felt happy and proud to be a part of the event: 'To be around these guys, to be part of Laver Cup, it's a great thing for me.
To spend a week with these great players, they are very professional. It's a lot of fun for me. I mean, you learn a lot. I mean, it's a different generation, different times. But this year, you know, the most important week is this week.
Of course, I have a lot of fun. You know, to compete these three days, I believe it's going to be a great match. Team World has a good team, too. So it's going to be a close match and very exciting tennis. Like I said before, we are here to try to defend our cup.
It's going to be difficult, but I think we have a good chance.'
