Tennis - Former Top 20 player Aravane Rezai is working on a comeback to the tennis courts and will be working with former French Open finalist Henri Leconte on the same. In an interview published to WeLoveTennis, Leconte says, "My team and I set up a program accordingly, even on the mental aspects as well.
All this is done calmly, without haste and with the initial objective of aiming for the top 200. After, once everything is in place (the physical and the mental), I am convinced that Aravane can return very quickly because I can assure you that she has not lost anything of the quality of her shot.
I am very happy to take up this challenge with her because everything is done with a lot of honesty and gentleness. I also take this opportunity to thank Franck Boucher (New Balance, Yonex) who supported us from the beginning when I explained the idea."
The 32-year-old Rezai does not have a ranking currently, although she has been as high as No. 15 in the world. She has played sporadically over the past few years - playing one ITF event in October 2018, and three events in 2017.
Known for her big-hitting groundstrokes, Rezai has scored wins over players such as Justine Henin, Venus Williams, Victoria Azarenka, Maria Sharapova, Dinara Safina, Francesca Schiavone, Caroline Wozniacki, Marion Bartoli, Flavia Pennetta and Jelena Janković in the past.
She has won 4 WTA titles in her career, including the Madrid Open in 2010 and the Tournament of Champions in Bali in 2009.
