Stan Wawrinka can count on a big support this year at the US Open. The 44-year-old Swedish top model Victoria Silvstedt is cheering for the Swiss player and they are together in New York. Silvstedt shared her joy after Wawrinka's win over the Frenchman Jeremy Chardy through a video on Instagram.
"Stan the Man, we are your fan club. Go Magnus, go Stan!" Wawrinka's Swedish coach Magnus Norman has been in a relationship with Linda Dagh for years and they have two children. Dagh is a good friend of Victoria Silvstedt for years.
She also performed in a reality show held by Silvstedt. Earlier this year Wawrinka split with his girlfriend Donna Vekic, a 23-year-old tennis player. Asked about what's his nickname, Wawrinka replied: "We (me and Roger Federer) have a lot of nickname.
We've been spending a lot of time since we arrive on the tour with the Davis Cup, Olympic. Also we have many nicknames on the road." On Cori Gauff, John McEnroe said: "In five years, if she is handled properly, she will be the best player in the world.
We start to put a lot of expectations, she is 15, you'are asking an incredible amount of someone who has not been around at all to suddenly walk into this situation and say, I can go out and win an event like this. Hopefully the people around her have their head on the shoulders straight.
Less is more for a couple of years. Enjoy being a kid to some extent. If it's handled right she will do great." On Serena Williams's US Open chances, he concluded: "I would pick her to win it. She is hungry, she wants to break all the records, she is the best ever already, but she is still motivated."
