Nadia Petrova and Daniela Hantuchova fall in the first round of Sydney International

Russia´s Nadia Petrova, Slovakia Daniela Hantuchova, Belgium´s Yanina Wickmayer and Czech Repbulic´s Luci Safarova were among the big names who suffered casuality on the first day of Sydney International WTA Tennis Tournament.
8th seed and former top 10 player Nadia Petrova was made to play a very tough first round match against Roberta Vinci of Italy. The doubles specialist ousted Petrova in two hard fought sets and won the encounter 7-5,7-5. Slovakia´s Daniela Hantuchova, also a former top 10 player won first set very easily against Ayumi Morita of Japan 6-1 but Japanese player made a comeback and won the second set 6-3.
She kept the momentum going and won the third set by the same scoreline to take the match 1-6,6-3,6-3. Madison Keys of USA made short work of Czech Republic´s Luci Safarova and won 6-2, 6-1. Yanina Wickmayer on the other hand went down fighting hard against Galina Voskoboeva of Kazakhstan as she won the first set 6-3 and lost the second set 7-6 in the tie-break. Voskoboeva won third set easily by breaking Wickmayer twice and won the set 6-2 to take the match.
