Romania’s National Day is celebrated on December 1st and Simona Halep decided to make sure that people all around the world know that and can congratulate her compatriots. The Wimbledon champion posted an Instagram video in which she shows the value and the spirit of Romanians.
The video was made with the help of Banca Transilvania, the largest bank in Romania. “Do you see them? Of course you do! They are here… in offices, at their computers, on construction sites, in hospitals and companies, in farms, wherever they’re needed… You see them on the subway or when they take their kids to school.
Of course you see them, because they always put in good work and it shows. They are the Romanians!”, Halep says in the video. Simona ended the post with a call-to-action message to all people who know a Romanian citizen.
“If you know one, say congrats on December 1st, Romania’s National Day. Tell them: “La mulți ani!” (“Happy National Day!”)”, concluded Halep. Simona Halep’s love for her own country is special and she is renowned for that.
“I’m from Romania, I was born there, and I see that as a positive thing. I’ve been very successful in tennis without having a big system, which makes me feel stronger. With the atmosphere back home, I feel like I belong there.
That’s why it is always a pleasure to go back. Every time I need to recharge my batteries, I go home. I have my family. I have my relatives and friends. The people make the place better”. , said Halep in a recent TennisHead interview.
