France's Alize Cornet has announced that she would be working with Sandra Zaniewska for the 2020 season on her Twitter account. Zanieswka is the former coach of Croatian tennis player Petra Martic. At 27, Poland's Zaniewska is one of the youngest coaches on the WTA Tour.
During her playing career, she won 10 ITF singles and 7 ITF doubles titles, peaking at No. 142 in the rankings and reached the finals of the Australian Open junior girls event with partner Aleksandra Krunic. She last competed on the tour in 2017.
The 29-year-old Cornet is currently ranked 59th in the world, her lowest year-end ranking since 2011, and will be hoping to climb back to the Top 20 - she peaked at No. 11 in the rankings in 2009. Cornet has won 6 WTA titles in her career so far - the last of them coming in Gstaad in 2018.
This year, she reached the final of the WTA event in Lausanne. She was also part of the French team that won the Fed Cup finals over Australia last month.
Very happy to be working with @szaniewska for the next season 👊 !
