France's Fiona Ferro has hired Emmanuel Planque as her new coach, as her per Instagram account. Ferro posted the message saying, "I'm really happy to formalize my collaboration with Emmanuel Planque" As per L'Equipe, Ferro was earlier working with Stéphane Huet but the pair split in October.
She had been working with Huet for two years before they split. Meanwhile, Planque had been working with Corentin Moutet and that association also ended a few months ago. Planque had also worked with French male tennis player Lucas Pouille in the past.
The 22-year-old Ferro had her best season in 2019 to date - she reached No. 61 in the rankings in September, and is only one spot below currently at No. 62. She was also part of the French team that won the Fed Cup title in November recently.
She won her first WTA singles title in Lausanne earlier this year as well.
By the way I’m very happy to announce my collaboration with Emmanuel Planque. Looking forward to our next challenges 💪
