Andresscu had to miss the ongoing Australian Open due to a knee injury and has yet to play her first tournament in 2020. She is currently ranked No. 6 in the WTA world rankings. Her win over Serena Williams in the US Open final in September made her the first Canadian singles player in history to win a Grand Slam singles title.
