Tennis - Ukraine's Elina Svitolina is in Hua Hin this week for the WTA Thailand Open in the city and the organizers of the tournament invited her to one of the most famous places in town - the SkyBar. The SkyBar is one of the most popular attractions in Hua Hin and the floors at the bar are made out of glass.
Svitolina took her racket for a photo-op and posted the same to her Instagram account. Svitolina, who is the top seed in Hua Hin, will play her first round match at the WTA event against Dutch player Bibiane Schoofs. She will also partner Hong Kong's Ng Kwan Yau in the doubles event and the two will face off against the team of Han Xinyun/ Bibiane Schoofs in the first round of the doubles draw..
At the recent Australian Open in Melbourne, Svitolina lost to Spain's Garbine Muguruza in the third round of the tournament. She also played the Fed Cup for Ukraine last week for the first time in three years and won 2 of her 3 matches in the event.
Svitolina is currently ranked No. 4 in the WTA world rankings. The Ukrainian has won 13 WTA singles titles, including the 2018 WTA Finals. She reached her first Grand Slam semifinal at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships and followed it up with a second consecutive semifinal at the 2019 US Open.
