Tennis - Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas took some time out from his Davis Cup duties in Manila to enjoy the sights & sounds of the city and also help the homeless. The 21 year old Tsitsipas was part of the Greece team that defeated the Philippines in the Davis Cup Asia/ Oceania World Group Qualifiers this past weekend.
In a vlog posted on his Youtube account, the Greek star says that he and his friends used 20 euros to buy groceries for some poor people and that the same amount would only be able to buy them coffee and snacks in some European countries, noting the difference in the value of money.
Tsitsipas also mentioned that he had a great time in Manila - posting an update on his social media accounts - "Thank you for putting a smile on my face every single day. Thank you for spreading kindness and generosity. Thank you for embodying and applying this warmth into your daily lives.
It’s truly remarkable and a great example for every nation out there to be like you. Thank you for showing me your love and making me feel awesome. I leave a gift behind, and that’s my heart. God bless the Philippines!
