Tennis - Retired Spanish tennis player Emilio Sanchez says that he thinks the tennis tour will not resume in 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Sanchez, the brother of former World No. 1 Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, was responding to a tweet from former Spanish pro Tomas Carbonell, who tweeted, "The way things look in the world of ATP tennis, I'm afraid they are going to propose extending the year by a couple of weeks."
Sanchez responded to the tweet, saying, "I don't think 2020 is possible. There will be no more tennis. When viruses end in each country, governments will impose control and force quarantines for 14 days, as in China they even do to move from city to city.
It is impossible for players to quarantine 14 days before each tournament." Spain's Feliciano Lopez, who is still playing on the tour and is also the Tournament Director of the Madrid Open, also responded saying that 2021 seems like a real possibility, "Captain this is not going to be able to do with us!
In Madrid it seems that we are at war, I hope you are all well in Naples and above all take care http://mucho.De We will talk about tennis later but 2021 seems like a real possibility.
