Spanish tennis player Roberta Bautista Agut, ranked No. 12 in the ATP world rankings, has revealed that he and his wife are expecting their first child during an Instagram session over the weekend. The 31 year old Spaniard is currently in quarantine with his wife in Spain and during the Instagram session, he revealed the news.
The Spaniard has said that if everything goes as per plan, his wife will give birth in September around the end of the US Open or beginning of the French Open (as per the tennis schedule). The Spaniard revealed, "She is pregnant and our son will be born in September if all goes well, by the end of the US Open or early Roland Garros.
The doctors have told us not to go to the hospital at the moment and that we will have time to follow up.". Bautista Agut has won nine ATP singles titles, including the 2018 Dubai Tennis Championships. He also reached the 2016 ATP Shanghai Masters final where he lost to Andy Murray.
His best result at a major was at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships, where he reached the semifinals. He is married to Ana Bodi Tortosa. The couple got married on 30 November 2019. The Spaniard was also part of Spain's Davis Cup winning team in November, a difficult tournament for him as his father passed away during the event.
Bautista Agut started playing tennis at the age of five and says his idols growing up were Juan Carlos Ferrero and David Ferrer.
