World No. 5 Elina Svitolina says she is using the current shutdown to complete her studies and would even consider taking up television assignments as a host. According to The Times Hub, Svitolina says she is using the lockdown period to live a normal life - something she has always wanted to do.
"For me, this break has come as a plus. Because I always wanted to live a normal life. Now is not a full normal life, because there are limitations. You can’t, for example, do some work outside the home. But to be honest, I like it.
I mind my own business and training. For me is not a problem, I even really like it." The Ukrainian tennis star says she has been working on her academics during the break as well. "I had to work hard to pull up on my French.
I already know some of it, as I had learnt it before. But now I am doing an intensive mode. I am left with two tests: training on nutrition and I also want to take a course in psychology or fitness. This is what I want to do."
The 2018 WTA Finals champion says she would also consider hosting TV shows in the future. "I recently tried a completely new sphere. I have very long prepared for interviews and understand that it is not an easy job, especially for those people who are not in this area.
I really liked it. Maybe in the future I want to do some TV some show. It is interesting to me, and I think that now there is time to try something new." Svitolina has been in lockdown with her boyfriend, the French ATP star Gael Monfils and the pair have been engaging regularly with their fans on social media during the quarantine period.
