Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas pulled off the ultimate prank on buddy Nick Kyrgios on the Australian's 25th birthday on Monday. In a cryptic Instagram post, Tsitsipas uploaded a photo of himself holding up a cardboard sign with the words “CALL ME” and an Australian phone number.
He also posted a comment saying 'Lift Others Up.' While many might have thought it was a similar initiative as Maria Sharapova's, who had shared her number with fans asking them to message her if they felt like during the lockdown, it turns out that the number Tsitsipas posted was Kyrgios’ number.
When Kyrgios figured out what Tsitsipas was upto, he commented on the post, calling his Greek buddy an absolute idiot and told everyone to stop calling him. ” The number was disconnected shortly after what would have likely been several phone calls and text messages to the Australian.
Anyways, here's wishing Nick Kyrgios a very Happy Birthday!!
Kyrgios is currently ranked No.
40 in the world on the ATP Tour. He has won six ATP titles and has reached eight ATP finals, including the 2017 Cincinnati Masters. He is also only the third player, after Dominik Hrbaty and fellow Australian Lleyton Hewitt, to have beaten Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic the first time he played each of them.
