Former World No. 1 tennis star Venus Williams and NFL star Rob Gronkowski are all set to star together in a new series on CBS. The superstar athletes will be participating in a series of incredible athletic challenges for CBS' upcoming series, Game On!
The show will be hosted by Keegan-Michael Key and premieres on CBS on Wednesday, May 27. It is a sports comedy series and is based on a U.K. show called A League of Their Own. In the show, 39 year old Williams and 30 year old Gronkowski will be seen participating in challenges ranging from sumo wrestling and life sized foosball to rhythmic gymnastics.
The show will have two teams of three competitors - captained by Williams and Gronkowski. Comedians Bobby Lee and Ian Karmel will also be part of the show. There will be some celebrity guests who will keep rotating on the show, including James Corden and Demi Lovato.
39 year old Williams has won seven Grand Slam singles titles in her career. She has reached 16 Grand Slam finals, most recently at Wimbledon in 2017 and has also won 14 Grand Slam Women's doubles titles, all with sister Serena Williams, as well as two Mixed Doubles titles.
She has also won four Olympic gold medals, one in singles and three in women's doubles, along with a silver medal in mixed doubles. 30 year old Gronkowski is an American football tight end for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL).
He previously for the New England Patriots. He is a three-time Super Bowl champion and was selected in the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team and NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team.
