Flipkens' career-high singles ranking is world No. 13, which she achieved in August 2013. She has won one WTA singles title, one WTA Challenger singles title and 5 WTA doubles titles in her career. She reached the semi-finals at the 2013 Wimbledon Championships in singles.
The Belgian also won the girls' doubles title at the 2002 US Open and the singles titles at the 2003 Wimbledon Championships and the 2003 US Open.
