Tennis Hall of Fame launches 'Your Name in the Hall of Fame' fundraising campaign

The International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport has launched an initiative to invite tennis fans from around the world to support the sport during the current tennis shutdown through a new fundraising campaign.

The International Tennis Hall of Fame has launched the “Your Name in the hall of Fame" fundraising campaign, where fans around the world can make a donation to the organization and can have their name and photo incorporated into an interactive exhibit that will be shown in the Museum at the International Tennis Hall of Fame and showcased online, according to the Hall of Fame website.

Fans can make a donation for the campaign starting at $25 and can be made on the Hall of Fame’s website. Donors can choose to put their own name and photo in the exhibit, and or someone else - such as a coach, teammate, or tennis friend or anyone else they would like to honour.

Todd Martin, former World No. 4 and the current CEO of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, commented, "While the pandemic has taken a major toll on our sport and society at large, through this program the International Tennis Hall of Fame is taking a moment to reflect on our sport’s history, celebrate its resilience, and provide fans everywhere a unique opportunity to be amongst the legends of the game in the Hall of Fame.

The funds raised through the campaign will help the Hall of Fame to continue their programs such as

  • Preservation of their museum collection of 25,000 + historic objects and hundreds of thousands of photos and videos;
  • Development of digital museum exhibits to bring the story of tennis history to the world;
  • and, Operation of youth development and outreach programs, including TeamFAME, a National Junior Tennis & Learning chapter based at the Hall of Fame, among others.
The International Hall of Fame ATP event and induction ceremony in Newport scheduled for this July this year have also been postponed due to the pandemic.
