Tennis - Former World No. 1s Billie Jean King and Tracy Austin were among the female tennis players who supported the latest challenge on line - the Women Supporting Women Challenge on Instagram. The purpose of the campaign was for women to show their appreciation for other women.
As part of the campaign, women were to post black and white selfies of themselves, along with their message and nominate other women for the challenge as well. In her message, King says, "Thank you to @lindseyvonn for nominating me for the Women Supporting Women Challenge.
Each person is an influencer. Use your platform for good. Show up. Stand up. Speak out" Among the other payers who took part in the challenge were former World No. 4 Jelena Dokic, and Frenchwoman Kristina Maldenovic.

Billie Jean King is a former World No. 1 tennis player. King won 39 Grand Slam titles: 12 in singles, 16 in women's doubles, and 11 in mixed doubles and is one of the most important figures in tennis history.
King has been an advocate for gender equality and has long been a pioneer for equality and social justice. She was also the founder of the Women's Tennis Association and the Women's Sports Foundation. King was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1987.
She was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame in 1990, and in 2006, the USTA National Tennis Center in New York City was renamed the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Billie Jean King is also known for her win over Bobby Riggs in the Battle of the Sexes match against Bobby Riggs, which was a landmark for women's sports.
King is one of the most influential women in sports. Tracy Austin is a former World No. 1 player. She won three Grand Slam titles; the women's singles titles at the 1979 and 1981 US Opens, and the mixed doubles title at the Wimbledon Championships in 1980 during her career.
She also won the WTA Tour Championships in 1980 and the year-ending Toyota Championships in 1981, both in singles. She is the youngest inductee of all time at the International Tennis Hall of Fame at age 29. Since 1979, she has been the youngest US Open female singles champion in history. Austin is now a commentator for tennis on television. Her son Brandon Holt recently decided to turn professional.
