Did Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina break up?

Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina are (or were?) one of the most beautiful couples in the ATP and WTA Tours. In fact, the two of them have repeatedly declared that they love each other and at the same time have often published ironic videos of their love, often on their shared profile they had fun and made their fans smile with strange and particular photos.

Through her social networks Elina Svitolina announced that the two are officially taking a break from their relationship. Through an Instagram Stories, the strong tennis player wanted to release a short statement where she specified: "Hello everyone, Gael Monfils and I have decided to take a break in our relationship."

The top ten then continued trying to clarify the situation: "This decision is really difficult because the two of us still love each other, but we are also two best friends who want to allow each other to take their time to find space and joy.

We will not release further comments and we thank you in advance for respecting our privacy."

The two tennis players have been together since 2019 and while the tennis player spoke on behalf of both, there are no official statements from Monfils' social profiles.

From a sporting point of view it is not an easy moment for both Svitolina and Monfils. The Frenchman is going through one of the most complicated phases of his career and started 2021 only with defeats, first in the Atp Cup, such as against ours.

Matteo Berrettini and also at the Australian Open where he was eliminated in the first round after five sets by the Finnish Emil Ruusuvuori. Similar situation also for Svitolina who, seeded number 5 at the Australian Open, was eliminated in the Round of 16 (quite surprisingly) by the American Pegula.
The last few months have upset the lives of all of us who every day have had to deal with the Pandemic and all the restrictions due to the Coronavirus emergency.

It is a rather complicated situation even for tennis players, struggling with a completely new way of facing the season, and various difficulties that characterize it.
