Depth on your serve is one of the most important factors in an effective service game.
When you can control the depth on your serve, you hold the ability to take time and space away... ultimately putting you in charge of the point. In this video, I walk you through a progression of exercises that are designed to give you complete control over the depth of your serve.
Perform Each step in the progression by holding the finish in a balanced position until the ball hits the back fence. This will guarantee that you are balanced through contact. 1. Hit the Ball UP in the air- What you're trying to do is create a rainbow like arc with your serve.
2. Smack the Ball DOWN into the ground and bounce the ball over the net. 3. Aim for the baseline 4. Aim for the bottom of the net 5. Aim for NO Man's Land 6.
Aim for the Top of the net 7. Aim for Deep in the Service box By performing this progression, you will: 1. Have complete control over the depth of your serve... giving you the ability to control your service games.
2. Hard Wire in a balanced serving motion... which is the foundation for ALL great serves. .
