The first movement: the positioning of the non-dominant arm

"In modern tennis, the positioning of the non-dominant arm has become critical for the good execution of the shot."
(Riccardo Piatti)

After analyzing 10 000 tennis players (amateurs, as well as under 12, 14, 16,8) over 12 years, it was observed that more than 70% of players use their non-dominant arm incorrectly in the first movement phase of the shot. This provokes a series of errors that continue right through the end of the shot.

Through video analysis, we can observe key points of the shot that can act as a standard reference for all players.

To better showcase this concept, we analyzed three different professionals (Murray, Nadal, Djokovic) and clearly show that even though they are very different, the fundamentals of the shot are identical.
