Though tennis remains his first priority, Andy Murray is looking for options beyond the tennis court. The Scot partnered with Seedrs, which is based in UK, when he joined the company’s advisory board in June at a time when equity crowdfunding was showing growth both in the US and in the UK.

He’s invested in Tossed, a healthy-eating restaurant chain, Trillenium, a builder of 3D virtual reality shops, and the Fuel Ventures Fund, an incubation studio. “I’m really excited to be investing in these driven entrepreneurs and their businesses on Seedrs," Murray said.

“It’s important to me that I back people who I believe have the same dedication, hunger and professional standards as myself and always strive to be their best.”
