Rod Laver Reveals a Little Secret About William & Kate's Tennis Games

Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are known to enjoy a healthy competition when it comes to sports between the two of them - and it seems the Duchess is able to beat Prince William at tennis. The Australian legend Rod Laver told the Mail Online, "I'd met William and Kate a few times, and in the Royal Box you get a chance to chat with them a little bit.

They play tennis against each other. William told me he couldn't beat her." Middleton has worked on her tennis skills at the Hurlingham Club in London. The couple's first born Price Goerge, who is 6 years old, has taken private lessons from Swiss legend Roger Federer at the Middleton family home in Bucklebury.

Federer has been a family friend of the Middletons and he and wife Mirka attended Pippa Middleton's wedding to James Matthews in 2017. Federer had told reporters last year, "At that stage it's all about just touch the ball.

It's already good. Same with my boys." When told he was Prince George's favourite player, Federer said, "I think I have a little advantage that I actually spent some time, you know, with him. So maybe I'm the only player he's ever met, then you have a little head start in who is your favourite player.

Look, he's a cute boy. I love to see that they're into tennis or into sports. Definitely. You know, his mum has always enjoyed tennis. That's it. I hope that he'll still say the same in a few years' time."
