Britiain's Jay Clarke: We are Black Men!! We build,we don’t tear down other Black Men

Britain's Jay Clarke has posted an update on social media on racism in the aftermath of the George Floyd killing and resultant protests in the United States. Several tennis players have taken a stand against racial discrimination in recent days to highlight the issue against racial discrimination, including Serena Williams, Coco Gauff, Naomi Osaka and Frances Tiafoe.

Jay Clarke says we should celebrate one another

In his post, Jay Clarke encouraged people to celebrate one another rather than criticize each other and wanted to start doing something positive. "We are BLACK MEN! We build, We don’t tear down other BLACK MEN!

We have felt the pain of being torn down and we have decided that we will be deliberate about building others! All too often, we find it easier to criticize each other instead of celebrating one another. With all the negativity going around, let’s do something positive!!🌟 Upload 1 picture of yourself....

ONLY you. Then celebrate as many brothers as you can by tagging them and asking them to do the same. (If I didn’t tag you, please don’t be offended, I tried to pick people I thought would participate in this challenge.) 🤎 COPY AND PASTE 🤎 Thanks for the nomination @ccthetenniscoach @coacho.g ❤️🙌🏽🙏🏽 ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE AND LETS BUILD EACH OTHER UP!!"

21 year old Jay Clarke has won 4 ITF Future titles in his career. In 2017, playing as a wildcard in doubles with Marcus Willis, the duo defeated the defending doubles champions and second seeds, Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert on their way to the third round of the draw.

He is currently ranked No. 167 in the world rankings. Last year, Clarke had revealed that he experienced racism on most days. In a post on Twitter, Clarke had said that "he experienced racism at least once a day 9 days out of 10."

He also revealed that he regularly received racist messages on social media after losing tennis matches. "It's happened a few times now so I just block them and move on with my life. They are sad people."
