American tennis star Madison Keys revealed Ashleigh Barty and Naomi Osaka are the two players she admires the most. Barty is a three-time Grand Slam champion, is aiming to finish the season ranked at No. 1 for a fourth consecutive year and is a great ambassador for the spot.
On the other side, four-time Grand Slam champion Osaka is a big mental health advocate. "I'm gonna my say my top two right now are Ashleigh Barty and Naomi Osaka," Keys revealed in Guadalajara.
Barty also spoke highly of Keys
At the Australian Open, world No.
1 Barty spoke positively of Keys. "Maddie is an exceptional athlete. She has a great serve, great first strike off the return and off her first ball after her serve. A lot of the time it's about trying to put her in an uncomfortable position, try and get her off-balance, because if she controls the centre of the court, the match is on her racquet," Barty said.
Keys, who was playing great tennis in Australia, couldn't stun Barty in the Australian Open semifinal as the Australian claimed a comfortable 6-1 6-3 win. "It's tough. It sucks. She's just playing incredibly well.
You have a game plan in your head but she's just executing everything so well. She's serving incredibly well. Her slice is coming in so much lower and deeper than it was in the past," Keys said after the match. Keys had a clear game plan of what she wanted to do against Barty but executing it was almost impossible.
“She's executing everything so well. She's serving incredibly well, so you don't get any free points on that. Her slice is coming in so much lower and deeper than it was in the past so it's hard to do anything on that. Then you try to play to her forehand and she can open you up," Keys explained,
