Petra Kvitova reacts to setting up Paula Badosa clash at Wimbledon

Former world No. 2 Petra Kvitova revealed she started feeling exhausted toward the end of match versus Ana Bogdan and that was one of the reasons why she was having problems with closing out the match. Kvitova, a two-time Wimbledon champion, appeared to be cruising toward a dominant victory as she was 6-1 5-1 up on Bogdan.

Suddenly, Kvitova's level dropped as Bogdan saved a match point in the 10th game and managed to force a second set tie-break. However, Kvitova was able to mentally recover from blowing a 5-1 lead and a match point as she realized her second match point in the tie-break to complete a straight-set win.

Kvitova plays next against fourth-ranked Paula Badosa. "My thoughts? It's mixed. I think it was great match from the beginning until 5-1, 5-2. Suddenly I felt, like, so exhausted from the games I had. I don't know, it was just tough to describe.

I got a little bit tighter and she just went for it a little bit more. She didn't miss. It was really tough to close it out," Kvitova explained, per the WTA website. "I really thought that probably would be third set, that I didn't even make it for the tiebreak.

In the end I did. I don't know how. Probably my serve helped me for the set point over there. Yeah, I made it. I'm still very exhausted. I'm just glad that it's done, for sure."

Kvitova prolongs her winning streak

Kvitova, who won Eastbourne last week, has now won her last seven matches.

Kvitova has had lots of success on grass throughout her career and he is having a great grass season at the age of 32. Now, Kvitova is set to face one of the biggest stars of the game as she and Badosa are set to meet for the second time.

When Kvitova and Badosa met at the Australian Open two years, Kvitova beat Badosa in straight sets. However, Badosa is now a much better player and it will certainly not be easy for Kvitova.
