Iga Swiatek reveals how she feels about Ashleigh Barty

World No. 1 Iga Swiatek thinks extremely highly of Ashleigh Barty and says she feels she can turn to the Australian whenever she needs advice. In late March, Barty shocked the tennis world when she announced her retirement from tennis at the age of 25.

After Barty retired, Swiatek replaced her at the top spot. "Ash Barty is that kind of person, that if I'd have some kind of issue, I feel like I can always ask her. She's a huge inspiration, her game always motivated me to get better, to have the same amount of variety.

She congratulated me a couple of times. That's nice," Swiatek said.

Meanwhile, Swiatek has won her last 37 matches as on Thursday she defeated lucky loser Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove 6-4 4-6 6-3 to reach the Wimbledon third round.

"During a match I don't even think about the previous matches and the streak because I don't think it's giving me anything at that point. I'm just trying to figure out what to do better and how to kind of come back.

Grass is pretty tricky for me. I'm not going to lie," Swiatek revealed.

Swiatek on 'Iga Swiatek and Friends for Ukraine'

This week, Swiatek revealed her plans to host a charity event for Ukraine on July 23 in Krakow.

"We were working very hard to make it happen, esp my PR manager, Paula Wolecka. In USA Daria and I thought that maybe this would be a nice thing to do. I really want to show people tennis from like a different perspective," Swiatek said.

Two matches will take place at the event and one of the matches will be between Swiatek and Polish tennis legend Agnieszka Radwanska. "How excited am I to play with Aga Radwanska? Oh, my God, very.

When I started on WTA, that was her first year when she didn't play. I was pretty sad that we never got a chance to, like, even be around. It's going to be fun," Swiatek said.

Meanwhile, Swiatek plays Alize Cornet in the Wimbledon third round.
