Former WTA world number one Naomi Osaka recently announced she would like to play mixed doubles at US Open but that she is “very afraid” of doing it because she doesn’t want to disappoint her partner. “I kinda want to play mixed doubles in US Open cause I’ve never played a full match in my life but I’m also very afraid of letting my partner down,” Osaka tweeted.

Reacting to the tweet, Kim Clijsters encouraged Osaka.

“Go for it ! It’s so much fun!” Clijsters tweeted. Former Wimbledon finalist Zina Garrison also reacted to Naomi Osaka’s wish to play mixed doubles at the US Open. “You should for sure play and find a doubles specialist and enjoy.

So much fun. It will also help your singles game. Doubles period would help get you back to the top I am just saying,” Zina Garrison tweeted.

Osaka’s shyness made stadium laugh at Williams-Raducanu match

Although Naomi Osaka got defeated in Cincinnati, she still attended the mediatized Serena Williams versus Emma Raducanu match but failed to keep a low profile as the stadium camera spotlighted her at the beginning of the second set.

Observing that she is being seen by the whole stadium, Osaka stopped clapping and had a hilarious reaction that provoked lots of laughs. The chair umpire had to intervene to stop the noise so the match could continue without interruption.
