Iga Swiatek offered Courteney Cox to play doubles and the American actress seemingly accepted. On Instagram, Cox - who famously starred in NBC's sitcom Friends - posted a video of her on a tennis court. "Hold on, I wasn't ready," Cox captioned her Instagram post.
That's when three-time Grand Slam champion Swiatek offered her to play doubles together. "If we'd play doubles together none would've hit you, just saying," Swiatek wrote in the comment section. Cox responded to Swiatek: "ok come over and we’ll take him on!
I mean this."
Swiatek getting ready for the final tournament of her season
After the US Open, Swiatek rested for three weeks. Then, Swiatek returned to action two weeks ago in Ostrava - where she made the final before losing to Barbora Krejcikova.
After Ostrava, Swiatek didn't have much time to rest as she hopped on a plane for San Diego. In San Diego, Swiatek ended up making it all the way after beating Donna Vekic in the final. It was Swiatek's ninth final of the year and her eighth victory in 2022.
Shortly after her San Diego triumph, Swiatek noted that "the most intense tournament of the season" is ahead of her. "The Finals, I think, is going to be the most intense tournament of the season, playing against the top players from Day 1.
We'll get back to intense practicing when we get to Dallas, but I'll have a few days in Florida to get into the rhythm before going," Swiatek told WTA Insider. This season, Swiatek has won two Grand Slam titles and has established herself as the new face of women's tennis.
Going into the WTA Finals - which will take place at Forth Worth, Texas, from October 31-November 07 - Swiatek is the top favorite for the title. Swiatek will certainly be very motivated to win the WTA Finals and cap off her astonishing season on a high note.
