Tennis - Japan´s Ayumi Morita withdraws from the US Open

Tennis - Japan's Ayumi Morita has pulled out of the US Open grand slam tennis event, starting on Monday due to a lower back injury. The world no. 51 was due to play fourth seed Sara Errani in the first round but will be replaced by lucky loser Olivia Rogowska instead.

Errani is a former French Open finalist and was also in the semi-finals here last year. Rogowska had lost in the final round of qualifying but comes in as a lucky loser. She will be hoping to win her first career main draw match in New York having lost here in the first round in 2009 and 2012.
