"Stunned" Iga Swiatek responded with a meme after hearing Andy Murray naming her as his preferred doubles partner. At the US Open, three-time Grand Slam champion Murray was asked to reveal his preferred doubles partner. Answering the question, Murray mentioned current WTA world No 1 Swiatek.

After reading about it on Twitter, Swiatek responded by posting a gif of a dog rolling over in surprise. Also, Swiatek added a peaking eye emoji.

Murray 'loves watching' Swiatek

Swiatek, 22, has been the top-ranked WTA player since 2022 April.

Also, Swiatek has won three Grand Slams over the last 15 months. Earlier this year, former world No 1 Murray revealed he was a fan of Swiatek's tennis. “I love watching (Iga) Swiatek, she moves great, the shape she plays with on the ball.

I always watch Emma (Raducanu) matches when I can, but I do love watching Swiatek," Murray told Eurosport earlier this year. Meanwhile, Swiatek is preparing to defend her US Open title. Last year, Swiatek defeated Ons Jabeur in the final to win her first US Open title.

This year, Swiatek is hoping to defend her US Open title and clinch her Grand Slam title No 5. In her pre-tournament press conference, Swiatek highlighted there is extra pressure in being the defending champion in a Grand Slam tournament. "Well, for sure I'm happy that I had time to practice a little bit more and to work on some technical stuff.

But I'm really happy with my performance in Montreal and Cincinnati. I get more, like, positive vibes, for sure than before last year's tournament. But being the defending champion is not easy, so I'm kind of taking it easy, trying to do everything step by step," Swiatek said.

After defending her French Open title, Swiatek was beaten by Elina Svitolina in the Wimbledon quarterfinal. It remains to be seen if Swiatek can win the last Grand Slam of the season and become a five-time Slam champion.
