Elina Svitolina's 2023 season may be over as the Ukrainian is taking a break to recharge, recover, and spend some time with family and friends. Although Svitolina was bothered by a knee injury, she was able to compete at the US Open and reach the third round before losing to Jessica Pegula in the third round.

"Life is a beautiful journey but I must admit, it can be overwhelming at times. I find myself constantly juggling multiple responsibilities, chasing my dreams and striving for success.
It's easy to get caught up in this whirlwind of life but amidst it all l've come to realize the importance of pausing, breathing and taking a step back. Life's challenges may be daunting but I've learned that it's okay to take a break and recharge.
It's during these moments of stillness that I gather the strength to keep going, to keep pushing forward towards my dreams. It's in these moments that I find clarity and regain my focus & I've got some exciting plans lined up!
First, I'll be heading back home to soak up the love and laughter with my family and friends. Then, I'll be putting my recovery first while still finding time to kick back and enjoy a few ice-cold beers," Svitolina said in a message posted on X.
Svitolina's post-pregnancy comeback has been a very impressive and inspiring one. After being out of tennis for 13 months, Svitolina returned by winning a WTA 250 title - reaching the French Open quarterfinal - as well as the Wimbledon semifinal. Also, Svitolina quickly returned to inside the top-30 in the world.
