Coco Gauff suggested that Jelena Ostapenko made some fair complaints over US Open scheduling following their match. On Tuesday - during the day session - No 6 seed Gauff demolished Ostapenko 6-0 6-2 in the US Open quarterfinal.
After their match, Ostapenko - who two days earlier finished her match at 2 am local time - complained that she "didn't get enough time to recover" and that the schedule for her quarterfinal match favored Gauff. "Yeah, I mean, it is definitely a valid thing.
I remember in Montreal I had to play Marketa, and we finished around 11:00 and then played the next day at 1:00 or 2:00. Luckily the match before us went long but I am still at the site and everything. Ostapenko had to play the second night match.
I don't know what time she practiced the next day, but it is definitely a different feeling. Yeah it definitely plays a factor, maybe more so mentally than physically, because physically you have the day in between but mentally these days go by fast.
I mean, I had doubles yesterday and I have doubles tomorrow. So I get the feeling in the way of playing back to back to back. Yeah, honestly, yesterday was a concern of mine when I found out I was playing first," Gauff said.

Gauff ousted Ostapenko to reach the US Open semifinal
Gauff made a lightning start to the match as she broke Ostapenko three times and also didn't allow the Latvian a single break point en route to a bagel in the first set.
After dominating Ostapenko in the first set, Gauff also started the second set with a break. Then finally, Ostapenko managed to win her first game of the match after breaking back Gauff in the second game of the second set.
However, blowing an early second-set break didn't impact Gauff, who broke Ostapenko again in the third game. Gauff then broke Ostapenko again in the seventh game for a 5-2 lead before serving out for the match in the following game. Gauff plays Karolina Muchova in the US Open semifinal.
